HyperBass started with a simple idea: I wanted to build something of my own that meant something. I spent a long time unsure of what that would look like, until bass music and rave culture gave me a sense of direction. Watching Sub Focus at Golden Lights, standing in the rain as the sun set, was a defining moment. It made me realise I wanted to contribute to the culture that had given me so much, rather than simply be part of the crowd.

For me, HyperBass is about more than clothing. It comes from a frustration with overpriced, low-quality gig merch, but also a feeling that something is being lost within nightlife and rave culture. The underground parties, the connection between strangers, and the communities built around a shared love of music are what made these scenes special. In a world where we're more connected than ever online, genuine connection can sometimes feel harder to find. HyperBass is my way of contributing to a culture where creativity, self-expression and community still matter, while keeping the history of bass music and drum & bass alive for the next generation.

Clothing is just the beginning. I want HyperBass to grow into something that brings people together through music, streetwear, events and creative opportunities. It's for the people chasing something bigger, taking a different path, or figuring things out as they go. Whether you're behind the decks, creating something of your own, or simply there for the music, I want you to feel that you belong. Built from within New Zealand's bass scene, HyperBass is here to help carry its culture forward.
